Lovers Leap!

We will shortly be waving goodbye to this year and are probably already wondering what 2012 will bring.

Well, this could be your year because not only is 2012 set to be the year of romance it is also a leap year - when, as tradition has it, women do the proposing on the 29th February!

As for wedding themes, romance will be everywhere!

Vintage remains a big wedding trend in 2012 but with themes becoming even more dreamy, sentimental and romantic by going yet further back in time and taking inspiration from all that is Victorian. Think feminine lace, soft ruffles, cameo brooches, choker jewellery, damask prints, big bloomed flowers like peonies as well as dusty colours which embody that bygone age - pale aquas, golds, celedon greens, light tangerines, dove greys and blush pink. Call it what you will but we are calling it Victoriana!

Art deco is set to be big this year with films such as the remake of The Great Gatsby soon to hit the silver screen. Ideal for brides that want a more ornamental, lavish and artistic wedding. Think Charleston, clean simple lines, geometric patters, hints of ancient Egypt, chrome, fringes, long pearls, heavy embellishments and feathers.

Another catwalk trend for 2012 is Old Hollywood Glamour perfect for those brides seeking a timeless look which oozes sophistication with a sense of style that leaves their guests in awe for decades to come. Think leading ladies - Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth and Great Garbo - femininity, chiffon, satin, plenty of pearls mixed with sparkle, shades of alabaster white, and deep red roses monochrome and floral prints.

Here at Vintage Rose our 2012 stationery collection will be launched very soon.

We have carefully designed and created a range inspired by all that is vintage which and embodies these bygone eras, from demure damask Victorian patterns to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood!

We hope you will love it as much as we do!

Winter Blues

Winter weddings can be breathtakingly glamorous, elegant and oh so romantic!

As the temperature falls, why not warm to the colder weather with shades of blue - teal, midnight blue or our personal favourite - ice blue.

For a truly enchanting winter wonderland theme why not team ice blue with silver and pure white and add plenty of sparkling crystals - exquisite, classic and very cool!

Commissioned by a very special bride we designed this collection for her to encapsulate a tone of understated elegance and pure sophistication. Although they were the coolest of colours they were perfect to melt the heart's of our bride and her guests.

Our bride was thrilled with how her ideas became a reality and so were we, especially when she received her completed invitations, she said "they are just gorgeous, I absolutely love them and everybody else will too!"

Vintage Rose were delighted not only to be commissioned by our bridal couple to design and create these truly bespoke, elegant hand-crafted wedding invitations but also to design their place  cards, order of service, card receiving box, table plan and centrepieces too.

It was truly our privilege to be asked to be a part of their special day and we would love to be a part of yours too.
