Italian Vogue

Former Westlife singer and Australia's Got Talent judge, Brian McFadden, has tied the knot with beautiful Irish DJ and Model, Vogue Williams, at an intimate ceremony in the romantic and historic setting of the fairytale Italian Castello di Vincigliata in Florence.

Vogue (how could you not be stylish with a name like this) wore a fabulously stunning white satin gown by the Australian company J'Aton Couture, with bases in Melbourne and New York, who have a well-earned reputation for skilled hand-work and the finest attention to detail. J'Aton is favourite amongst Australia's society and celebrity elite.

The company was established by Jacob Luppino and Anthony Pittorino in Melbourne, Australia, with a showroom and atelier, creating bespoke evening and bridalwear. Both designers are from sartorial Italian backgrounds and use traditional methods in their unique gowns. 

The groom too looked refined and elegant dressed in a traditional black suit and bow tie which, as all good grooms should, complemented his glowing bride's dress perfectly and made her the centre of everyone's attention. Vogue's six bridesmaids wore peach strapless, chiffon gowns. 

The lovely couple, who were engaged in January, were surrounded by close family and friends at the stunning 1000-year-old medieval castle, originally home to Florentine nobility, in the Tuscan countryside on Sunday evening. Brian was no doubt thrilled and proud as his daughters Molly, 11, and Lilly-Sue, 9, had a part in the ceremony as the couple's sweet and adorable flowergirls. 

It is reported that Brian and Vogue had a low-key civil ceremony in Dublin last Thursday, but the celebration on Sunday was their "real wedding". 

After a moving marriage blessing the guests, who included Danii Minogue, Boyzone's Ronan Keating and Scary Spice Mel B, were treated to a fittingly scrumptious five-course dinner of mouth-watering food typical to the region. This was followed by a hearty mix of on-trend cocktails, a live band playing and, but of course, a rocking DJ set which kept the dancing and festivities bouncing along until the early hours of the morning whilst in between the guests were treated to a spectacular fireworks display which took place around 11pm. 

Whilst claiming she was no Bridezilla, Williams did begin to panic as the day drew nearer, prompting her to hire A-list wedding planner, Melinda Balli. Vogue commented “it reinforced that I know exactly what I want, but I might just need some help organising it.”

Spoilt by Celebrity Weddings

It's no secret that here at Vintage Rose Wedding Designs that we just love celebrity weddings so we were spoilt for choice on Monday morning when the internet was simply awash with lots of famous Ladies and Gents celebrating their Big Day!! 

On Saturday it was the turn of singer/songwriter Katie Melua and her also musically talented piano playing daredevil motor biking fiancé James Toseland to tie the knot at the elegant Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.

Then we were given a glimpse into the sophisticated world of model and DJ Lady Mary Charteris, niece of Daphne Guinness (yes of the black stuff heritage), who had a lavish bash to celebrate her marriage to The Big Pink's Robbie Furze at Stanway House in the rolling Cotswold hills. 

As if that wasn't enough pop star Brian McFadden tied the knot with his Irish DJ bride, Vogue Williams, at an intimate ceremony in the Florence countryside.

Celebrity Weddings - Pop Princesses and a Swan Queen

It doesn't matter how many weddings we have worked on or we have been guests at - we still get so excited about that moment on the day when the beautiful and glowing bride appears in her very special wedding dress. For us it is always a magical moment! 

If you are like the girls here at Vintage Rose, and ladies there is a good chance that you probably are, don't you find that your anticipation heightens even more when a popular celebrity is getting married and your just dying to see pictures of "the dress" the bride has chosen to wear.

Recently a few celebs have taken that momentous step and 'tied the knot' but what really interested us here at Vintage Rose was the very different wedding themes and styles which they chose.


Rochelle Wiseman - Super Saturday !

We heart this adorable Vera Wang glamorous strapless fishtail wedding gown Saturdays singer Rochelle Wiseman wore when she tied the knot to the handsome JLS star Marvin Humes.

The gown was finished with ruffles and pearls and paired with a simple hair piece and cream roses.

We loved the fact that it was a traditional style but with a modern twist. Her bridesmaids included her Saturdays bandmates who were dressed in black gowns with a crystal feature.

The lavish ceremony took place in Blenheim Palace with a star-studded guest list.


Una Healy – Numero Uno Una

Pop Princess Una Healy chose a stunning Claire Pettibone gown when she married hunky rugby hero Ben Foden.

The deliciously dreamy gown which was sumptuously overlaid with grey camellias layered over lace and pearl silk was delicately finished with moonstone beads and cleverly accessorised with a boho-chic headpiece and veil.

Her beautiful bridesmaid bandmates were the perfect complement dressed in bespoke empire line lilac gowns that were accentuated by sparkling silver shoes.

The theme was a Midsummer Night's Dream and a magical wedding reception was held at the elegant Kilshane House and was attended by family and friends as well as several personalities from the sports fraternity.


Natalie Portman – The Swan Queen

This is the wedding dress that everyone is talking about ... she chose a statement dress and it is certainly that.

Designed by Rodarte the naturally beautiful and engagingly quirky Portman opted for a simple yet demure white '50's style tea-length dress with an illusion high neckline and full-length sheer sleeves. She completed the look by a clever choice of nude flats, a simple veil and a delicate floral headdress.

Her moonlit intimate ceremony beneath California's Big Sur sky complimented her elegant dress perfectly creating a relaxed, whimsical and natural atmosphere!

At the end of the day you will be saddened that you have to take it off and leave it behind as you sail away on your honeymoon, but you will think of it often and with great fondness, that, I guarantee.

The Butterfly Effect

On the runway at New York Fashion Week, Preen's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection elevated itself above all others with the introduction of its enchantingly beautiful butterfly print.

This looks set to ingratiate itself into our subconscious to the extent that our love for all things floral will be replaced by our infatuation with these beautiful butterfly patterns which bring with them a slightly more grown up feel.

One thing is for certain and that is the High Street with a keen eye for the latest trend will soon follow suit and we will be seeing butterflies flittering elegantly everywhere.

Butterflies have always been a wedding favourite, maybe because they are delicate and dainty and create a sense of enchantment with their beautiful intricate colours. To many they are a symbol of Spring and Summer but this new trend will ensure they are a favourite with many a bride-to-be! 

Butterflies are very versatile and can be incorporated into almost any colour scheme and most themes.

Go, go go Team GB - Golden Brides

With the glorious London 2012 Olympics nearing their end and Britain's Gold Medal tally seemingly growing by the minute, how amazing is it that many of Team GB's medal successes have been by female athletes.  

Who can fail to be impressed by these wonder women as they storm their way to Gold Medal winning success. With Helen Glover and Heather Stanning rowing their way into the history books for Team GB's first gold medal right through to victories from Jessica Ennis, Victoria Pendleton and 20 year old double gold medalist Laura Trott to name a few. 

These golden girls are the inspiration for a new generation of bright young things but they will also be the inspiration for many a bride-to-be.
